Note: This post is part of a series where I listen to an album each day in December. Past posts can be found on my substack. All hyperlinked songs go to Spotify links, Youtube links can be found at the end of the post.
Happy New Year’s Eve readers! I can’t believe December is coming to an end, and my 31 days of listening are over. It has been a joy to listen and a challenge to write something interesting for you all each day. Like many of you, I’m enjoying New Year’s Eve with my family, but I wanted to take the time to write my last post about Earth, Wind & Fire’s I Am. I plan to write more tomorrow so stay tuned.
My thought process for today’s album was to find something dance-forward, energetic, and lively. Ringing in the new year with good music is important and if Earth, Wind & Fire’s I Am is the last album I’ll listen to in 2023, I won’t be mad. I’ll keep my ideas short so I can continue the celebrations.
I love this album because it represents so much of Earth, Wind & Fire’s greatest hits. “In the Stone,” “Can’t Let Go,” “After the Love Has Gone,” and “Boogie Wonderland” are all on one album. If you’re looking to listen to something exciting and fun, this is a great place to start. Dance or sing along and start 2023 on a high note.
Happy New Year’s
Until soon,
Emily
Great choice. Happy new year!
